This patient came to us with stage four lipo-lymphedema, which is lipedema and lymphedema combined. She suffered from the painful symptoms associated with this condition for decades before receiving a diagnosis and seeking a lipedema expert for treatment. The onset of her lipedema began in her lower extremities and progressively spread to her stomach and arms.

This painful fat disorder (Lipedema) caused her stomach to develop fibrotic tissue that became worse and more symptomatic over time, ultimately creating heavy folds of skin that interfere with daily activities. Dr. Schwartz opted to perform a tummy tuck for lipedema to address the painful tissue and remove the heavy folds of skin.
